I am standing as an independent candidate in Clark because I believe this election is Tasmania’s best chance to get a truly diverse parliament, not dominated by established parties.

Community consultation and community power over big decisions that affect our state is incredibly important, and successive governments have failed at this. Conversely, I know from my own experience that many small decisions are overly complex and stand in the way of our small businesses – let’s change this balance. Let’s ensure transparency and community consultation for large projects like a cable car or an AFL stadium. At the same time, let’s clear some of the unnecessary bureaucracy that makes it hard for innovation to occur.

I came to Tasmania in 2010 and after a few stints in and out of the state (and country) mainly to find work, I returned to Tasmania full time in 2016, and in 2017 my wife and I purchased the lease for the Fern Tree Tavern. A few years later we bought the pub freehold and have built it into a thriving community hub.

I’m looking forward to many more years, brewing many more beers, in Tasmania
